I have a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and a Ph.D. in Fine Arts and have for many years been a Professor of Photography in the Department of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. This fact clearly marks my personal work. Therefore, I consider the photographs that I show as part of an exploration, which combines the two aspects, personal and professional.
My research focused on the Technology and Aesthetics of photography, and I have published several articles in the areas of Critics and Technicals. I am often traveling around the world, although lately I have focused mainly on China and I do not lose sight of my origins in Zaragoza and Barcelona.
My work has been influenced by several important traditions, including Street Photography, Classical Portrait and New Documentary, and of course several important photographers in the History of Photography as well as Contemporary Photographers as Ricard Terré, W. E. Smith, G.Winogrand or specially Diane Arbus.

Tengo una Licenciatura en Física y un Ph.D. en Bellas Artes y durante muchos años ha sido Profesor titular de Fotografía en el Departamento de Bellas Artes de la Universidad de Barcelona. Este hecho marca claramente mi trabajo personal. Por ello, considero las fotografías que muestro como parte de una exploración, que combina los dos aspectos, personal y profesional.
Mis investigaciones se han centrado sobre todo en la Tecnología y la Estética de la fotografía y he publicado varios artículos en el área de la crítica y la técnica. Con frecuencia estoy viajando alrededor del mundo, si bien últimamente me he centrado sobre todo en China y no pierdo de vista mis orígenes, en Zaragoza y Barcelona.
Mi trabajo se ha visto influido, en lo fotográfico, por diferentes tradiciones, desde la Street Photography, los retratos clásicos y el Nuevo documentalismo, por poner algunos ejemplos. También importantes fotógrafos han influido en mi manera de pensar y hacer la fotografía, tanto históricos como contemporáneos. Son algunos de ellos: Ricard Terré, W. E. Smith, Garry Winogrand y sin ninguna duda Diane Arbus, a quien le debo mi interés primero por la fotografía.

I have curated SoFarSoClose as big international exhibitions showing differences and similarities in street photography for several years, 2009, 2011, 2013: My work and chinese photographers’ work together, color and black and white, Beijing, Hong Kong, etc. Straight and contemporary street works. There are a book and exhibitions.
He expuesto mi trabajo realizando al mismo tiempo la curaduría de las exposiciones internacionales SoFarSoClose, los años 2009, 2011 y 2013. SoFarSoClose ’16 está pendiente de realización.
Se trata de mostrar diferencias y similitudes entre mis fotografías y los trabajos de fotógrafos que realizan su obra en China. Es fotografía documental y fotografía de calle preferentemente.
